Junior Hudson
ISCP.Adv.Canine.Prac.
Founder & Director
CAW is founded and directed by Canine Behaviour & Wellness Practitioner Junior Hudson ISCP.Adv.Canine.Prac. Junior specialises in behaviour and nutrition, and integrates a multi-disciplinary approach to canine wellness through his practice Heal the Dog. With over 13 years experience, Junior has assisted thousands of dogs and their guardians worldwide.
Junior is a graduate of the International School of Psychology & Behaviour, obtaining a Level 6 Distinction in Advanced Canine Behaviour. A professional member of the National Institute of Canine Ethics, approved by the UK Dog Behaviour & Training Charter, and associate member of the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies. He has worked in the pet-food industry, formulated for commercial brands and for private clients worldwide. Junior has worked with leading experts and businesses in the industry committed to elevating the standards of canine health and welfare, and his writing has been featured by pet magazines in the UK and North America.
Junior shares his home with 2 Eurasiers, and has served as a Breed Health Coordinator for a KC registered Eurasier Breed Club for a number of years. He credits the bulk of his learning to his first Eurasier, who remains his biggest teacher and inspiration for working with companion animals.

Holly Leake
DTC.ADT
Canine Behaviour
Holly is a qualified canine professional with extensive expertise in dog behaviour and training. She holds certifications from Canine Principles, BCC, DTC and KAD and is a professional member of the International Institute of Canine Ethics. With 9 years of experience working with dogs, Holly is the proud owner of Paw Chores Dog Walking and Training, where she delivers 1-2-1 support to local dog guardians, with the help of her team. Beyond her business, she serves as a tutor at Canine Principles and the International School of Canine Psychology, mentoring students in canine behaviour and developing dog training courses. She formerly worked as puppy class instructor for 3 years and now focuses on providing 1-2-1 consultations and virtual behaviour consults with Companion Animal Wellness.
Holly has a particular passion for supporting adolescent dogs, puppies and those experiencing reactivity challenges. She shares her life with her shih-tzu Mando, who inspired her focus in supporting dogs who develop anxiety during adolescence.

Deborah Smith

Canine Behaviour
Debs is a Clinical Animal Behaviourist and Dog Trainer Instructor with a career spanning back to 2009. While her primary expertise lies with dogs, she also has experience supporting cats, rabbits, and other small domestic pets.
She holds Provisional Clinical Animal Behaviourist membership with the APBC (Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors) and is actively working towards Full CAB membership. Debs also holds multiple professional accreditations, including ATI (Animal Training Instructor) with PACT, approved by the ABTC (Animal Behaviour and Training Council), as well as certifications from the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers), The Dog Training College, and Canine Hoopers World. She is also a Certified Separation Anxiety Pro Trainer, having been mentored by Julie Naismith.
Debs’ passion for dogs began in 2006 when she met Stan, a Cairn Terrier. She quickly discovered that terriers are not just cute but also extremely clever — and so her learning journey began. Today, she shares her home with Hazel, a two-year-old Chocolate Labrador, and Dax, a ten-year-old Tibetan Terrier.

Claire Stares

Feline Behaviour
Claire is a feline behaviourist and award-winning writer with a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Animal Behaviour (Distinction) from the University of Edinburgh’s Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, and an International Cat Care Certificate in Advanced Feline Behaviour for Cat Professionals. She is a Fear Free Certified Professional, a Full Member of International Feline Behaviourists, a Behaviour and Training Professional Member of the Pet Professional Guild, a Provisional Clinical Animal Behaviourist Member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors, and a Candidate Member of the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Clinicians.
With over twenty years of experience working with cats in homes, rescue centres, and veterinary practice, Claire specialises in helping cats and their guardians overcome behavioural challenges such as anxiety, aggression, house soiling, and compulsive behaviours. She also provides problem behaviour prevention and wellbeing advice to improve happiness and quality of life, helping cats to thrive. Claire is particularly passionate about positive reinforcement training for cats as enrichment, for cooperative care, and to strengthen the cat-human bond.
A lifelong cat lover - her first word was “cat” - Claire now shares her home with four beloved feline companions: rescue Domestic Shorthairs Bertie and Katie, a Siamese named Daisy Mae, and Horatio, a Maine Coon. She also volunteers with Cats Protection and is dedicated to promoting feline welfare, education, and advocacy through her behavioural work and writing.

Lauren Hunter
Dip.Dog.Nutrigenomics, Animal Health & Welfare BSc (Hons)
Canine and Feline Nutrition
Lauren is a dedicated Canine and Feline Nutrition Consultant with a strong academic background and hands-on experience in the animal care industry. She holds diplomas in Canine Nutrigenomics and Feline Nutrition, along with a BSc (hons) in Animal Health and Welfare from the University of South Wales. Currently, Lauren is further advancing her expertise by pursuing an MSc in Animal Nutrition at the University of Glasgow.
With over five years of professional experience, Lauren has worked extensively across the animal care sector, focusing on the intersection of nutrition, health, and welfare. She specialises in supporting companion animals with health conditions through science-based and holistic nutritional strategies.
In addition to her consultancy work, Lauren is also a passionate educator. She teaches college-level courses in Canine Health and Welfare, Canine Nutrition, and Pet First Aid, sharing her knowledge with aspiring professionals in the field.
Lauren's approach is rooted in evidence-based practice, and her primary mission is to improve the quality of life for companion animals through tailored nutrition that supports both preventive health and therapeutic outcomes.

Laura Blackledge-Smith

Canine Behaviour
Laura is a skilled and compassionate dog behaviourist and trainer, with a wealth of experience helping animal guardians navigate a broad spectrum of behavioural challenges. From reactivity and aggression to separation anxiety, resource guarding, inappropriate toileting and everything in between. Laura’s expertise covers a diverse range of issues. She has successfully supported guardians with behavioural concerns involving multiple dog households, dogs and children, dog-cat relationships, adolescence, fear-based behaviours and abnormal repetitive behaviours.
With a Master’s degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour from the University of Edinburgh’s prestigious Veterinary School, Laura’s education is matched by hands-on experience working with the largest dog charity in the UK. As an accredited trauma-informed professional, Laura has a particular passion for working with dogs who have experienced trauma and helping their guardians rebuild trust and confidence.
In addition to her broad expertise, Laura has a special interest in working with small breeds and sight hounds, using her deep understanding of their unique needs to support them and their guardians.
Laura is a Provisional Clinical Animal Behaviourist member of the APBC (Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors) and is actively pursuing Full CAB membership. She continues to expand her knowledge and skills to ensure the best care for the dogs and families she supports.
At home, Laura shares her life with Eila, a resilient chihuahua rescue who has blossomed from a shy, shut-down dog into a confident companion and Pickle, her cat, who is as quirky as his name suggests!
