About

Our goal is to improve the wellbeing of companion animals by providing accessible, affordable support to guardians

Companion Animal Wellness (CAW) is a dedicated team of dog and cat behaviour and nutrition practitioners - a first of its kind initiative providing accessible, readily available virtual support for the wellbeing of companion animals. All our practitioners follow ethical methodologies and are committed to not using or promoting aversive equipment.

Why do we say 'companion animal' and not 'pet'? â€‹

Approximately 90% of guardians consider their dogs and cats as fully functional family members.

At CAW, we believe the term companion animal is more representative of this mutual bond, and that the words ‘pet’ and ‘companion’ may have different meanings for some when perceiving aspects of this relationship (function vs emotional bond).

We fully accept that ‘pet’ is the more widely used term; ultimately it is how we treat the animals we share our homes with that is primary, not what we call them. You may notice that we also use ‘guardian’ instead of ‘owner’, due to similar sentiments.
